Happy belated 124th, HPL!!!!!!

So, yes, I'm several days late with my well wishes and for that I will undoubtedly burn in illimitable dimensions beyond time and space....  Oh, well, better late than never, as they say. Seriously, though, I owe HPL a great debt of gratitude for the way his work changed the way I look at the world, and because it also made we want to be a writer.

The picture below shows the front and back covers of the book that started it all! I bought it from Scholastic Book Services when I was in the fourth or fifth grade, and it began my obsession with HPL which is alive and kicking to this day! 'The Colour Out of Space', the first story I ever read by Lovecraft, remains one of my absolute favorites, and though it may not belong to the Cthulhu Mythos per se, it is, in my opinion, one of the best examples of his cosmic perspective on horror and a truly terrifying read!

So, happy birthday, Howard Phillips Lovecraft!!! You look mighty spiffy for a guy your age!
